In Response to the FBI release on July 15, 2026 regarding a previous member of Community
Bible Church:

This release is in regards to a man (name removed out of respect for the family) who was a member of Community Bible Church from 2021-2023. At the time of his joining this man disclosed his registered sex offender status and agreed to abide by the following additional stipulations in addition to our membership covenant: 1) He would not be allowed to serve in any ministries with individuals under 18 or where individuals under 18 were present, and 2) he would not be allowed to interact with individuals under 18 outside of his own family members. This man agreed to these stipulations and abided by them for the entirety of his involvement with our church, including volunteering with maintenance needs periodically and leading discussion in our adult men’s ministry with an elder present.

On June 8th, 2023 this man was arrested on charges related to his history and the elders immediately launched an investigation into his involvement in the church body. The investigation found that there were no incidents on campus in violation of the church’s stipulations or local laws, but the elders’ investigation has remained ongoing pending the outcome of his legal case. With the recent release from the FBI, the elders have concluded the investigation with no findings as of July 18, 2026.

We remain confident that our church has effective protection measures in place for not only our children, but everyone in our church. We employ cameras, background checks for volunteers, internal safety practices such as restricted access and check-in, and a Safety Team to make sure everyone is safe on our campus.

Community Bible Church is a place where God’s people can gather around God’s Word to accomplish God’s Mission, and we desire for it to also be a place where those same people feel safe.

We encourage our members not to engage in any online debate, but to direct concerns directly to the church. We also encourage anyone to report any activities that are unsafe or outside of our membership standards to our elders. This can be done by emailing elders@cbible.org or contacting our church office directly at 352-799-5462. Any illegal activity should be reported directly to the local authorities who faithfully protect our community.
